Hirschmann SPIDER provides an economical yet versatile range of unmanaged ethernet switches that now includes Gigabit and fibre capability. Ideal for field panels where space is limited, port capacity extends from 3 to 8 Ports. Where features such as redundant power supply and fault monitoring are required, the Hirschmann RS20 Unmanaged range is available. The OCTOPUS range provides on-machine ethernet switching with IP67 protection.

Industrial Ethernet - Managed SwitchA fully featured Layer 2 Managed industrial ethernet switch, the Hirschmann RS (Rail Switch) range is a general purpose switch with industrial ratings for temperature, vibration, shock and EMI. With Gigabit capability, fibre uplinks and numerous port configuration options, the RS range is the starting point when selecting rail mount managed switches with predominately copper ports to a total of 24 ports. Model RS40 (illustrated) is all Gigabit, with 4 SFP ports.

Modular Ethernet Switch/Router

Industrial Ethernet - Modular Managed Switch

When a high number of fibre ports is required, or for a variety of media and connectors, the modular Hirschmann MS (modular switch) range is provided. Available with either switching only or routing capability, the MS range can provide up to 28 ports, of which up to 4 can be Gigabit. Now includes Digital IO Modules.

Rack Mount SwitchesIndustrial Ethernet - Rack Mount Switch

With all the features of the rail mount switches above, the MACH100 range provides a managed switch in a rack mount form. Expandable to 24 ports using 8 port media modules, MACH100 is also available with Gigabit uplinks, fibre port modules, and two mounting styles to suit front or rear port access. Your first choice for a Managed Layer 2 switch in 19" rack mount form.

Ultra High EMI Tolerant Ethernet Switches Industrial Ethernet - High EMI Tolerance

In high voltage and high EMI environments, added protection is required to ensure data is immune to interference. The Hirschmann RSR and MACH1000 models are specifically designed  for power stations, substations, rail lines and other extreme EMI environments, extending the immunity of fibre all the way inside the switch. For this reason port layout is factory set. MACH1040 now with routing.

Where high Gigabit port density is required, the answer is MACH4000, the only unit in the Hirschmann range that is fan cooled. Hirschmann’s flagship product comes in 24 or 48 port models, with the option of 10Gigabit uplinks (that's 10G, not 10 quantity!) for an ultra-high capacity backbone. Available with Layer 3 / Routing, MACH4000 meets the most demanding applications in manufacturing, transport, and defence.

Media Converters

While the SPIDER range provides copper to fibre converters for ethernet, Hirschmann also have a range of media converters for a range of protocols; PROFIBUS, Foundation Fieldbus and Modbus Plus. Extend your non-ethernet networks with Fibre, and add redundancy capabilities as well. Yes, redundant PROFIBUS without the cost of total duplication.
