Industrial Ethernet PoE
Demand for Power over Ethernet (PoE) is growing as the benefits of placing low cost IP cameras around production facilities are being understood. Other applications include WLAN and VOIP, as well as novelty devices like clocks using SNTP for synchronisation with a master clock.Hirschmann Industrial Ethernet provide a large range of products with PoE capability. All follow the 48Vdc supply standard. Be wary of 24Vdc PoE equipment - the standard does not yet (June 2011) embrace the lower voltage, and these proprietary systems may not play well with standards based ones.
