Rope Pull Switches

The IDEM GuardianLine range of cable pull switches includes 'Mini Duty', 'Standard Duty' and 'Heavy Duty' models, as well as Stainless Steel and Accessories.

Innovative Tensioner

One of the areas which makes the Guardian Line new and innovative is in the area of rope connectivity. Traditional ‘turn-buckle’ style rope fasteners and adjusters are prone to rope slippage and require frequent re-tensioning leading to production loss caused by machine down time.
Idem has overcome this common problem by providing a rope connection system with a ‘Quick Link’ clasp at one end of the rope and a patented Tensioner/Gripper at the other.
The Tensioner / Gripper is located at the switch (rather than elsewhere along the rope length) so that the switch tension window can be viewed. Final setting and locking can be achieved in a matter of seconds without any need for frequent re-tensioning.

Mini Duty GuardianLine - Type GLM - 50m

The GLM a compact yet robust die-cast Mini Duty Safety Rope Pull switch designed to protect short conveyor lengths were protection is required up to 50m using two switches or up to 30m using a single switch. They provide reliable, cost effective safety solutions for conveyor systems and can be enhanced by adding external mushroom type E Stop at the switch or bi-colour LED available to show switch status from a distance. They have a choice of 3 or 4 pole contacts to ensure flexibility with all modern control applications. Rugged integral sealing bellows means they can be high pressure hosed.

Standard Duty GuardianLine - Type GLS - 80m

The GLS a General Duty robust die-cast Safety Rope Pull switch designed to protect conveyor lengths were protection is required up to 80m using two switches or up to 60m using a single switch. They provide a reliable general purpose safety solution for conveyors and offer a choice of fittings depending upon the application. They can be supplied with a mushroom type Emergency Stop button which can be fitted to the side of the switch to offer an extra traditional Emergency Stop function close to the switch, or can be fitted later after installation without any extra wiring. A bi-colour LED is available to show switch status from a distance and they have a choice of 3 pole, 4 pole or Explosion Proof contact blocks to ensure flexibility with all modern control applications. Rugged integral sealing bellows means they can be high pressure hosed and the choice of materials makes them suitable for inside or outside use.


Heavy Duty GuardianLine Left/Right - Type GLHL/GLHR - 125m

The GLHL/R is a robust die-cast Heavy Duty Safety Rope Pull switch designed to protect long conveyor lengths were protected is required up to 125m using two switches or up to 100m using a single switch. The die-cast housings are robust to survive indoor or outdoor use. A bi-colour LED ensures switch status can be seen easily from a distance. They have 4NC 2NO contacts to ensure flexibility with all modern control applications and optional Explosion Proof contact blocks are available. They can be used to complement the GLHD versions at each end of the rope span.

Heavy Duty GuardianLine Dual - Type GLHD - 250m

The GLHD is a Heavy Duty Rope Pull switch designed to protect long conveyor lengths. The die-cast housings are robust to survive indoor or outdoor use including washdown (IP67 rating). Lengths over 2 Km can be achieved with less than 20 switches. A bi-colour LED ensures switch status can be seen easily from a distance. They have 4NC 2NO contacts to ensure flexibility with all modern control applications and optional Explosion Proof contact blocks are available. Shorter rope spans up to 200m. Can be achieved by using just one switch therefore making a cost effective solution and also reducing wiring runs.

Options

NEW in 2011 - IDESAFE 2 Wire Communication system allows up to 63 GLH type units, fitted with input modules, to be networked up to 5km total network distance. Reduces time and cost of design and installation.

Model GLHD-EX, GLHL/R-Ex and GLS-Ex Safety Switches are available with positively operated ATEX Eexd llC T6 certified explosion proof blocks. 

A Stainless Steel range of GuardianLine Grab-Wire Safety Rope Switches is also available.
